I have never been to Scotland but it is my fervent wish to go there soon. I keep talking about walking across Scotland, because it looks so skinny on the map, there in the middle. I understand there are organized walks along Hadrian's Wall, any number of things to do in Edinburgh, small towns to visit on the coasts and of course, whisky distilleries. When I was a child, I read and fell in love with "Ring of Bright Water" and ever since, I have wanted to visit that area of the coast, near Skye. I think it was Bill Bryson who visited the Orkneys and said that they told a story of how, one day, the wind stopped blowing suddenly and everyone fell over. And my mother's maiden name was MacDowell so apparently, I am part of the MacDougall clan. Finally, we just went on a trip to California and used the Lonely Planet guide and it never let us down. We stayed at some of the motels recommended and did some of the things (like go on the Warner Brother's Studio tour which was rated the best) and were never disappointed.

When I saw this book jacket on your blog entry today, I knew I had to have it. Of course, if I don't get chosen in the draw, no biggie - I will merely add it to my next Amazon order, now that I know it exists. So thank you for telling me that it exists!

All the best, Julia jringma [at] rogers [dot] com
I do have some blogs but they are sorely neglected.JuliaRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10795348297295716491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-473528606413302079.post-13578215108968630852010-01-06T23:30:41.888+00:002010-01-06T23:30:41.888+00:00Ooh I get to be #1 for a change :) Anything beachy...Ooh I get to be #1 for a change :) Anything beachy is great for me especially up north.
